Minutes for the County Executive Committee Meeting, June 4th, 2019

 Chairman, Dr. Wilkerson, called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.

 The invocation was led by Tom Hughes (pct 48).

The Pledges of Allegiance to the United States flag and to the Texas flag were led by Hartley Mackintosh.

Quorum: 23 chairs required; 46 present.

Business Conducted:

Approval of the agenda:

A motion to approve the agenda was made and passed.

Approval of the minutes:

A motion was made with a second to approve the minutes from 4/2/19.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer, John Wertz (pct 69) presented a report. A motion was made to adopt the report presented and passed by a voice vote.

SREC Report:

Judy Parada (SD 3) and Allison Winter (SD 4) each shared reports.

RPT Field Rep Andy Bakker shared a report.

Vacancy Committee:

Allison Winter (pct 59), Chair of the Vacancy Committee, shared a report from the vacancy committee, stating that the 11 current vacancies are 22, 26, 37, 39, 45, 54, 64, 73, 77, 87, and 95. The committee recommended Robin Dupois (of pct 22). The motion passed as a voice vote. committee also recommended Bob Cote (of pct 77). The motion passed as a voice vote. Jay Wright administered the oath.

Adrian Kaiser (pct 66) moved with a second such that a 10 minute recess be given to conclude elections. The motion passed by a voice vote.

2020 Victory Committee:

Susan Johnson, Co-Vice Chair shared this report previously during the Committee Reports.

Precinct Chair Success Story:

Brian Crumby (pct 13) asked for precinct chair success stories to be sent to him for future inclusion.

New Business:

Henry Daniels (pct 40) presented a “resolution condemning deception electioneering by the republican voters of Texas PAC.” A motion to adopt the motion was seconded. Jon O’Der (pct 18) spoke against. Jon Bouche (pct 35) spoke for. Charles Parada (pct 38) spoke against. Ginger Russell (pct 74) spoke for. The question was called. Adrian Kaiser (pct 66) moved with a second for a roll call vote. Dale Inman (pct 27) moved with a second to suspend the rules to allow Karen Darcy-Pawlak to speak; the motion passed by a voice vote. Dale Inman (pct 27) moved with a second to suspend the rules for the purpose of amending the motion; the motion passed by a voice vote. Dale Inman (pct 27) moved with a second to amend the resolution by striking the phrase “and their entire Advisory Board consisting of Dorothy Woodall, Kenna Seiler, Paul Cote, Alice Melancon, Susan Johnson, Allen Taylor, Kim Bailey, Suzanne Adams, Kenny Mansfield, Leah Gray, Jodi Ruonavar, Peal Maggio, Charlie Parada, Lane Carrell, Marissa Rummell, Pat Truesdale, Greg Long, Fran Martin, JoDell Whitehead, and Karen Dary Pawlak.” Scott Baker (pct 23) spoke against the amendment. Reagan Reed (pct 50) spoke for the amendment. Gary Reynolds (pct 15) spoke against. The motion to amend the resolution passed by a standing vote. The question was called. Charles Parada (pct 38) moved with a second to suspend the rules to allow Susan Johnson to speak; the motion passed by a voice vote. Reagan Reed (pct 50) moved with a second to suspend the rules to allow John Wertz (pct 69) to speak; the motion passed by a voice vote. Scott Baker (pct 23) moved with a second to table the discussion. The motion failed by a voice vote. The roll call vote on the amended resolution passed; For: 25; Against: 15; Present 6.

Ann Kate (pct 72) moved with a second to begin the CEC at 7:00 pm; the motion passed by a voice vote.

Adrian Kaiser (pct 66) presented a “resolution against SB11 and SB10 amendment.” Ginger Russell (pct 74) spoke for. Mark Frank (pct 10) called the vote. The motion passed by a voice vote.
